STRENGTH THROUGH SERENITY

Calm, Cool, Collected and Loving Life!

OAKLEY COMMUNITY CENTER, CincinnatiWe all know that true happiness comes from within ourselves, but with the pressures and demands of everyday life, it’s not uncommon for our shiny center to begin to tarnish at times.

Author of more than 30 books and a passionate motivational speaker, Pat Strickland, has devoted her life to helping busy adults find practical, effective ways to stay in constant contact with their natural serenity; the core in each of us that remains calm and confident in every situation and guides us through instinct to make decisions that are right for us.

During two sets of four weekly classes, Pat will discuss and practice with you, simple techniques and exercises that will quickly put you back in control of your thoughts and feelings regardless of the behaviors being acted out by those around you.  Each class begins with a special guided meditation and gentle stretches.

Discussion topics include:

  • Simple ways to reinforce your positive self image even when clouds of doubt seem to be seeping in.

  • Giving more of yourself in loving relationships without feeling like you’re giving up who you are.

  • Expressing your needs and wants in ways that help those around you fulfill your desires.

  • Understanding why your Prince (or Princess) seems to be turning into a frog.

  • Smarter ways to manage deadlines and find the extra time you crave.

  • Keeping the stress of work from stealing your entire life.

  • Effective ways to reduce stress immediately and clear your head.

  • How to put more fun back into everyday.

The first four week series will be offered Wednesday evenings from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. beginning September 12, 2007 and ending on October 3rd.  The second series begins on October 10, 2007 and ends on November 7th.  Classes will be taught at the Oakley Community Center.  Each series of four classes costs $49.00.
