Anyone who resides, works or visits the Oakley North area of this community is concerned about the proposed roadway known as the Kennedy Connector.  This roadway will connect the current shopping area of Center of Cincinnati and the proposed developments of Mid Town Centre and Millworks more directly to I-71. Up until mid November the City of Cincinnati’s Department of Transportation and Engineering was proposing to widen Ibsen Avenue from the Center of Cincinnati across Ridge Road through the former Precision Industrial manufacturing site to Kennedy Avenue.

At the December Oakley Community Council, meeting Jeff McElravy, from the Economic Development Department, presented a new drawing that proposes the traffic from the Center of Cincinnati and proposed Millworks site would flow eastward on Madison Road turning left onto Ibsen Avenue then cutting through the former Precision Industrial manufacturing site to Kennedy Avenue.  The Department of Transportation and Engineering is preparing to request proposals for the final engineering design of the Kennedy Connector using the new routing along Madison Road to Ibsen Avenue.

The development and building of the Kennedy Connector is no longer linked directly to the Millworks project.  The Kennedy Connector is a standalone project that has been assigned to the Department of Transportation and Engineering. John Brazina, Department of Transportation and Engineering, is the Project Manager for the Kennedy Connector.

Continue to watch this website for updates. It’s possible that representatives from the City of Cincinnati will again visit the monthly meeting of the Oakley Community Council in March or April to provide updates.
