  • §  New recruit class, 70 people short, 4 vacant Captain positions

COVID-19:

  • o   Looking to move to in-person in August, looking into hybrid options

Real Estate Development:

  • ·         Future Development at Madison & Romana – Matt Walker
  • o   Looking to build 9 units on former Yat Ka Mein restaurant site
  • o   To be owner-occupied
  • ·         Oakley Station Potential Project – Troy McAndrews
  • o   Rob Smyjunas (Vandercar holding)
  • o   Gauge interest in building with ice rinks in Oakley Station), use TIF $$ ?, non-profit?
  • o   Joe – is there enough demand?
  • ·         Hyde Park Avenue House Extension – Colleen Reynolds
  • o   Discussion f what OCC role is/should be on such requests (zoning variances for residential improvements)
  • o   Getting OCC approval allows homeowners to expedite process
  • o   Option of “no-hearing” zoning

SPEAKER CARDS:

  • o   Concern about size of development, traffic issues, water runoff
  • o   Out of OCC jurisdiction, limited options
  • o   OCC will send concerns to developer, request city look into traffic & water studies.

  • o   Carryout food & picnic on square, 3 music acts

  • o   Great success, 54 volunteers, close to 300 pounds collected
  • o   Want to do a Fall event as well

  • o   DOTE has approval to move forward, will be meeting with them over the next several weeks
