John Heilman’s Recent Passing - Dave Schaff

Served for 32 years on OCC; Dave coordinating a formal memorial/plaque

Cincinnati Fire Department – Station 31 

204 runs for November; Christmas trees and lights are highly flammable. Remember to unplug interior holiday lights before going to bed. Change your smoke and CO2 detector batteries.

Tis the season for retail thefts and porch package thieves. Do not leave packages in the car where they are visible. Do not leave any valuable in plain sight.

CRC Report

Band Camp – Wednesday through Friday in December.

Oakley Master Plan (OMP) Steering Committee

Next meeting: 12/18/18, 6-8PM. Zoning will be discussed

Business – Kenny McNutt

Business Coffee Hour – 1st Tuesday of each month at Redtree, 730AM.

Next business happy hour: 1/24/19, 4PM at Oakley Pub and Grill.

Daddy Daughter Dance – $4,000 in ticket sales thus far. Tickets will not be sold at the door - buy now!

Eastern Gateway Project (near MadTree)

Final funding was approved by City Council ($1.9 million project). Structural and aesthetic improvements; current area isn’t ADA compliant. Construction to begin in the next couple of months.

City Hall Liaison – Evan Nolan, Colleen Reynolds, Dan Krohn, Sean Fausto

New Year’s Eve Fireworks – 7-9PM 8PM Fireworks on the Esplanade

2019 OCC Trustee Elections

4 seats available. Dan Krohn, Kenny McNutt, Seth Shaifer and Jason Wilcoxon provided their statements of candidacy.

Motion by Evan Nolan to approve the slate of candidates as listed; seconded by Colleen Reynolds.

Unanimous approval from the audience.

Stacy’s Lehman’s Board Position

Stacy resigned earlier this month. Sandy Gross provided her statement of candidacy to fill Stacy’s role.

Motion by Dave Schaff to appoint Sandy Gross to Stacy Lehman’s seat to serve Stacy’s remaining term; seconded by Colleen Reynolds. Unanimous approval; motion passes.

Events SOP Vote – Pushed to next Third Thursday Meeting

2019 OCC Schedule of Events – Jon Bernier

Evan Nolan motions to approve the 2019 Oakley After Hours Events List; seconded by Sean Fausto. Unanimous approval.

Oakley Connection Sign Variance – Christopher Hildebrant, Morelia Group

Requesting a letter of support for 10 sign variances (signs on the backside or side of buildings).

Motion by Evan Nolan to provide a letter of support for the ten (10) sign variance request for placement of signage provided that:

  • (1)    Total square footage of signage per property does not exceed maximum permitted signage allotment; and
  • (2)    The street-facing side of Oakley Connection and Encore Oakley contain at least as much window space on the buildings, as presented at the 12/4/18 meeting.

Seconded by Sean Fausto; unanimous approval.

UC Division of Trauma/Critical Care – Dr. Jason Schrager, Trauma Surgeon – REVIVE ResQFoam Study

10 people per year estimated to effect; if you don’t want to participate in “study” to give non-consent, please email revive@uc.edu. You must “opt out” of the study to ensure you are not chosen.

Approve 11/15/18 Meeting Minutes

Motion to approve 11/15/18 Minutes by Colleen Reynolds; seconded by Cody Gausvik. 8 approve; 11/15/18 minutes passed.

Sean Fausto, Evan Nolan and Jon Bernier abstained.

November OCC financial report – Jason Wilcoxon

Motion to approve by Joe Groh; seconded by Sean Fausto. Unanimous approval

NSP funds [$6085 total]

($1,500 membership; $2,085 Events, $1,500 Operations (insurance, postage, etc.), $1,000 Beautification) Oakley Resident votes: 18 yes; 1 no [only Oakley residents can vote]

NBD funds [$3800 total]

(1,000 for landscape & $2,800 for special events)

Audience votes: 21 yes; 1 no [anyone in the audience can vote]

Motion to adjourn meeting by Cody Gausvik; seconded by Jes Overley. Meeting ends at 8:57PM.

New Business:

  • ·       Next Tuesday OCC Meeting 1/8/19, Oakley Recreation Center 7PM
  • ·       Election of Officers this evening after meeting adjournment at Oakley Wines

Election of officers:

  • (1)    Colleen Reynolds was nominated and confirmed for President;
  • (2)    Evan Nolan was nominated and confirmed for Vice President;
  • (3)    Cody Gausvik was nominated and confirmed for Secretary; and
  • (4)    Jason Wilcoxon was nominated and confirmed for Treasurer.
